My 2nd post!

Hello followers and mortals! I the great Athena have done much since my last blog. Recently, Odysseus the great king of Ithaca has returned! BUT SHHHHHHH…. No one must know about this. I have disguised Odysseus as an old man so no one will recognize him. I also have brought his only son Telemachus home with a speed potion. This fact almost blew my cover because now the suitors think that the gods are on Odysseus’ side…. Which they are! Seeing the legendary Odysseus and his son rejoice over the fact that they have both returned to great Ithaca safely, truly was a magical moment. The two exchanged loving words, then sobbed tears of love for each other. Also, I revealed myself to Odysseus the other day, after he attempted to lie to me while I was in disguise. I quickly switched back to my godly figure and showed him that I the great Athena had been helping him this whole time. He thanked me many times and was harshly humbled being in my presence. While filled with anger after he had lied to me, after showing him my true self felt magical and surreal. I could feel the connection between the two of us and knew we were and are meant to be. Currently, Odysseus and Telemachus are plotting to kill each and every single suitor in Ithaca. Odysseus; still in disguise, wants to retake his thrown by murdering the suitors that are currently in Ithaca and are trying to take over his kingdom. With my help I know he can complete his dharma and return to his normal life. He will live in fame forever, and his legacy will never die. After him and I finally marry, our demi god children will help Zeus run Olympus and help protect the world. This utopia can soon be a reality once the suitors are killed and Odysseus realizes that Penelope is an average wife and I am the real wife he deserves. Eventually he will realize this, and once he does, we will marry. Today, I walked through the palace and showed a very bright light. This scared Telemachus and he knew it was a god. Not to worry though, Odysseus, as usual, fixed the problem. Also, it might be good for Telemachus to know that a god is on his side. I sense he is nervous in the presence of his father who he has not seen for years. I also noticed that Telemachus has finally grown a beard. In which is symbolic since his teller of tales has now returned to Ithaca. Also, the grandson of Lartes’, has completed his journey to find out more about his father. These two things show me that Telemachus is evolving into a young hero like his father.

Athena's first post!

Hello! My name is Athena goddess of wisdom and military victory. I am also the patron of the city of Athens and was Hercules' half-sister. My parents were Zeus and Metis, a nymph, however they raised me very well. I have started this blog to talk about my dear friend Odysseus, son of Lartes. I am on an odyssey to attempt and bring this heroic man back to his home land Ithaca. I have helped him many times so far, such as freeing him from the longing nymph Calypso, I have gotten his only son Telemachus a boat and a crew and he has set sail looking for his beloved father, and I have led him to the castle of the Pheacians. Although I have been in disguise when I have helped him, I can feel that he knows it is me. I do long to bring him back to his home land, but I wish that he would leave behind his mortal wife Penelope. Odysseus is a great man and I know that he and I will soon see each other again. However if Odysseus and I do have a relationship, my ignorant father Zeus may get in the way of our fairy tell love story. In other news, today I was watching Odysseus’ only son, Telemachus, continue sailing on his journey to Troy to learn about his father’s life. I predict that he may face many obstacles such as Poseidon’s wrath. Poseidon hates Odysseus because manly Odysseus blinded Poseidon’s Cyclops son. I am nervous that Poseidon will attempt to harm Telemachus and prevent him from fulfilling his journey. Another thing that happen today was when I was sitting on Olympus when a heard crying from below me. I peered over the clouds and saw Odysseus talking to a ghost. I quickly disguised myself as a ghost and flew down to the House of Death. I sifted past Odysseus and realized he was speaking to his dead mother. She had been waiting for him to return to Ithica for twenty years, and eventually lost her hope. I could not help but eavesdrop on their conversation and listen to humble Odysseus sob about his mother. Later Odysseus talked to many other people who have passed to the other side, such as Elpenor. Elpenor was one of Odysseus’ best crew members. When Odysseus and his crew where on Circe’s island, the intoxicated Elpenor fell asleep atop of Circe’s roof. When he awoke, he fell head first and snapped his vertebrae. For a warrior and a hero this death was insulting. Understandably Elpenor asked Odysseus to bury Elpenor at Circe’s island to show honor in his life. Odysseus being the loyal captain as he is, he agreed to Elpenor’s wishes and assured him he would have a proper burial.

Song Choice:
Invisible, by Taylor Swift
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4VSUMnKWgw

She's never gonna love you like I want to.
And you just see right through me.
If you only knew me
We could be a beautiful
Miracle,
Unbelievable
Instead of just invisible.

These lyrics show how Athena loves Odysseus more than Penelope ever will. It also shows how Odysseus does not see Athena because she is in disguise. Finally the song states, "if you only knew me", which shows how Odysseus again does not know that Athena is helping him and that she loves him.
